Since being decommissioned for public use in 2020, Centennial Pool has become a popular standing set for major film productions, providing an ideal location for aquatic scenes. A full wall of removable windows on the main deck of the pool have been installed for easy load in. Balcony viewing gallery and lower level change rooms. The pool is empty of water but can be filled and heated if required (standard fill times is 1-2 days, and about 4 days to heat). The building is capable of handling heavy production equipment with additional shoring underneath the pool in place. Pool dimensions 25x13.5 metres, depth 3 feet 5 inches in shallow end to 12 feet 6 inches in the deep end. Pool volume is 663,000 litres. Ceiling has rigging points for lights and can be used to bear weight (engineered drawings for these points and architectural drawings are available upon request). On the building’s south side, a paved driveway from Water Street leads to swing doors and removable windows, offering crews private and easy access for loading and unloading equipment. Parking can be made available along Water Street and there are a number of other basecamp options nearby.
